Alcohol
/ Drug Detoxification Programme Information
The
Eastbourne Clinic is a specialised unit which provides a
safe environment for people requiring admission for the
treatment of drug/alcohol dependency.
On admission
you will be allocated a Consultant Psychiatrist who will
be responsible for your care throughout your stay at the
Clinic. In addition to this you will have a specified Primary
and Associate Nurse who will co-ordinate a full programme
of treatment during your treatment period.
You
will be required to abide by the Clinics Policy of non-consumption
or possession of illicit drugs or alcohol. This will be
reflected in a Contract made between Yourself and The Clinic.
A full
assessment will be made by the Consultant and nursing team
after which a treatment programme will be formulated.
The
treatment programme includes:
- Prescribed
detoxification regime.
- Consultation
with Psychiatrist (minimum twice weekly).
- Individual
sessions with Primary Nurse.
- Group
Therapy: i.e. relapse prevention, social skill training,
anxiety management, yoga, coping skills, support group,
health and education, assertiveness training, relaxation,
problem solving, life skills, anger management.
- A
care plan will be co-ordinated, between yourself and your
primary nurse, according to your individual needs and
will address such issues as time management and looking
at positive coping strategies.
- Follow
up care in the Clinic Day Unit is available in order to
maintain continuity of care and to minimise the risk of
relapse. This can be attended from 1 to 5 days per week.
Contact can be made where appropriate with Community Aftercare
Services.
Prior
to admission you will be invited to view the Clinic and
discuss care plans and treatment options available. The
length of stay will be determined by the Clinical Team on
an individually negotiated basis and reviewed subject to
individual progress.
