Trauma
Services
How
can we help you?
At the
Eastbourne Clinic we offer an in-patient service for individuals
who have experienced a significant psychological trauma.
Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is the most common diagnostic
category used to describe symptoms following exposure to
such an event. Because traumatic experiences shatter the
very foundations of our beliefs and threaten our safety
and ability to trust, here at the Clinic, we place great
emphasis on the re-building of personal security and well-being.
Because of their unique experience and the circumstances
of presentation, treatment programmes are individually tailored
to meet the specific concerns of the individual.
The
Clinic is staffed by practitioners with extensive experience
working in the area of trauma and PTSD. We combine individual
psychotherapy and group work, using methods that have been
shown in outcome studies to be helpful in resolving PTSD
and associated conditions. Pharmacological treatment is
used in conjunction with psychological intervention, and
we also embrace complementary therapies within our overall
therapeutic milieu.
